    Hawk Conversion

Took a look at their website, and it looks like they are just getting off the ground. www.hawkengineering.com Rigs look good from the pic's. Not sure if they are doing a aluminum or steel frame.

    Ride quality

Chuck - I bobtailed my FLD before it was turned into a motorhome. It also had the air chairs, air cab, air springs front and back. It road pretty good. Put the motorhome on which deleted the air cab and it road like a Cadillac! No comparison, the motorhome ride blew the bobtail ride away. I...

    Sewer Bay Upgrades

Never had a issue with toilet paper. But when I first put the system on 3 years ago, I had it clog on some baby wipes that had plastic in them and a rubber hair band that was thrown in the toilet. After I had a little chat with the family on this, I have not had issues.

    Sewer Bay Upgrades

Hey geof - I think you missed the point of my system. I don't touch anyones waste. My system is closed loop, no waste hose to remove no dripping sewage. I have the dispenser there to clean up a little dirt or grass from handling the out side of the hose.

    Saving counter space

The first picture shows the crappy stove vent. Thankfully Show Hauler did not vent it outside, so I did not have to deal with a hole when I removed it. The vent also houses the water pump switch and tank levels. So the first thing was to replace the tank sensor system. You can see the new...

    Sewer Bay Upgrades

Here is what your seeing in the photo. On the diamond plate to the far right, the first switch operates the macerator pump system. I have used the system for 3 years now and it beats using the 3" sloppy hose. The system I use has a 1" hose that expands from 7' to 21'. It has a shutoff valve...

    Up coming projects

I will have some photos and a right up on the following upgrades I am making to the rig. I am having the plastic air intake on the hood of my M2 chromed. It was gray (god only know why) and did not match anything else Freightliner put on the cab. Flat panel tv in the outside storage bay...

    Kingsley for sale

In one year there has been a big time increase of rigs on the market. The economy is still good, but if there is just the slightest glitch you are going to see the demand for rigs to racers drop dramatically and than the conversion companies are going to be in trouble. It does look good for...

    Cold weather considerations

That is a really, really nice, well thought out rig. Love that interior. I have heard alot of good things from BigFoot on the Slide-in side, didn't even know they where building motorhomes now. But the chassis maybe another story. We where coming down from the U.P. of Michigan last year and...

The Loooongest Toterhomes I have ever seen!

Yeah I am not knocking these guys, because obviously there is a market or else they would not be building them. I just look back to my FLD with a 28' wheelbase and that thing was a p.i.t.a. on secondary road intesections. I was also pulling a car and you cannot backup with a car in tow, at...

    Help build my new coach

Hey fastlap, who's rig do you have now? I know one of your concerns is the underside. I really don't think rust proofing works very well on these rigs. I would think having the underside frame structure painted would be far better. But it would have to be done professionally. They put a...

    I got rust

fastlap - I would only be 1/2 T'd off. Even though my conversion was undercoated the rust still seems to come through in certain areas. Mainly along the bottom rails of the storage bins. I bought a really good rust proofing and undercoated the whole thing again about a month ago. On my...

    Renegade Sold

Just a follow up on this. Last weekend I attended the Pittsburgh RV show and a Renegade dealer had a rig on display. From what he said Chuck is still in charge and brought on partners (investors) to expand. The dealer (I do not remember the name) had a 32' motorhome on a tandem axles FL...

    My Showhauler Slide!

Sorry I did not see this post. The slide issue sounds like the support bars on either side of the slide are rattling. I occasional had this happen in my last rig. I never did look into a fix, but I am sure something simple could be done. And for the seems, get yourself a role of 3M VBH tape...
