Coach in the Making Two - Final Details

Well the last major details where finalized yesterday. The biggest was the floor plan. The final drawing came over and to fit everything in that we wanted, we had to go to 29'. I really wanted to stay in that 36' overall length range, but there was just no way. So keeping a eye on wheel base...

Coach in the Making Two - Truck Spec's

Thanks guys that really hurts Actually, we originally planned to head to Florida next week, that was until we decided to sell the last one. We did Florida the last year at Christmas and that was a major mistake. Going from blizzard conditions to sunny and 80 and then back makes again for...

Coach in the Making Two - Truck Spec's

I just wanted to post a update on this. A M2 has a current build time of 45 days. So with a few holidays thrown in, my truck will not be ready until January 31st. Something to think about as you consider a new conversion.

    Building Questions

I use to have a ton of links for all of the box components & RV interior supplies. Can't find them anywhere. Anyway do a search on Semi-Trailer Parts. Came up with these guys -> http://www.brodytrailer.com/partshome/ There is also a website that specializes in semi-trailer builders and...

    Overall Height ???

pjcnlv - That was my old rig which had air ride on the front & rear. By blowing the bags you gain about 4-6 inches depending on ride height That one had a height of 12'8" I believe when the bags where deflated. Bill

    Overall Height ???

Many of the conversion companies run 7' or 7 1/2' inside ceilings heights so your roof height will be 13' 2" plus at the top of the ac unit. Bill

    Insulation and Construction

Randy - Unfortunetly, I just sold my 2003 about 2 weeks ago and the new one will not be done until Feb or March. I am sure one of the other Show Hauler owners could get that measurement. Bill

    Insulation and Construction

Randy that is a good point, and I guess you really need to look at the construction of the coach. Most of my experience is with Show Hauler and since they use 5/16" strand board on their steel structure before they apply there bubble insulation and then furring strips and then interior walls...

    Insulation and Construction

There are always going to be customers who require increased insulation for severe weather applications. But to put this whole insulation debate into prospective; the majority of owners are not going to pay for the increased cost and the lose of interior space that a thick insulation is going...

    my truck

Rick - First you need to get your photos on to the web. The best way to do this is to post them in the photo gallery --> http://truckconversion.net/photopost/index.php You will need to establish a username and password (the forum and photo gallery are not tied together so you need to enter...

Coach in the Making Two - Truck Spec's

Alan - The reason why we are going with the M2-106 is because of the cab dimensions. We wanted something that was as compact as possible. Giving us a shorter wheel base, shorter overal length, and a big bunk over the cab. The 4400 is very close in size & price, but we have a FL dealer near...

Coach in the Making Two - Truck Spec's

Can I ask why you would want to add expense for a aluminum air tanks on a truck? These tanks are pretty small and they are not going to save you that much weight. Also my FLD120 had 567,000 miles and almost 10 years old with the same steel tanks. This conversion will be long gone before I...

Coach in the Making Two - Truck Spec's

Alan - No this is not a in stock truck. Just a FYI; Show Hauler does not handle truck chassis at all so you would need to procure your truck yourself or through a dealer. This truck was configured by Beck's Custom Coach. Nathan used his experience in conversions to put together a chassis...

Bill - I don't have a figure yet. Will have it nailed down in 2 weeks time. We still have so many little details that need to be worked out that could have a impact on the final cost. With everything being custom, it takes a bunch more work to finally get to that total $ figure. Bill

Coach in the Making Two - Truck Spec's

I want to thank Nathan at Becks Custom Coach for getting me the Freightliner M2-106 specifications. About the only thing we will change on this list are the seats. We will want to match the rest of the interior which will be dark grey ultra leather and go with a upgraded seat. The only...

" a man has got to know his limits"

Actually, I think you have to be very careful here. One of the issues that the conversion market has is the flexibility to be very creative. The good is you get it your way, the bad is that one mans perfect conversion is most others worst nightmare. If you are the type of person that can...
