The back wall, with windows which I supplied, was done at the dealer. They did the work for less money than what Morgan would have charged, plus they were able to do a fantastic job on the fit! (Summer, 2010)
Here's the 16' Morgan box, ordered new from the factory, sitting on the ground awaiting installation on the truck frame. The box was purchased new from the local Morgan dealer and took about 12 weeks to arrive. (Summer, 2010)
Another major step was to have the frame lengthened 6' to accomodate the 16' Morgan dry van. Also, a lot of time was spent de-rusting, wire brushing, and painting the frame. (Summer, 2010)
One of the first major steps was to have the front drive axle removed, and a new drive shaft installed. This work was done by my local Peterbilt dealer. (Summer, 2010)
Super Sleeper
Hello 377 Pete and all others:
Here in Grand Rapids, MI were are in a spell of very pleasant weather after some mid-90's and high humidity since early July. Nice weather to get back to work on my truck conversion project.
Scheduled to begin next week, the actual construction of...
Hi 377Pete
Hey, swimming pools are great, but trucks are greater! Hope you post some pictures of your 377 project, I would really like to see what you are doing!
I am new here, but would like to say, "Welcome" and I look forward to your progress reports!
You lucky guys!
This is an interesting thread! Those you who own a business and have a shop, or have a pole building on your property are the chosen and lucky ones of the truck conversion world!
I am not in that group . . . oh, woe is me! So, I had to adapt. Renting a low-end warehuse...
Air Ride
Yes, you are correct; I do expect some degrading of the softness of the ride when I remove the airbags from the back of the new sleeper to make it one ridig unit.
However, I still have the air ride seats, and they take up most of "bumps" when going down the road, anyhow.
Hey, this is...
Wiring
For your 110VAC wiring, be sure to use stranded 12 or 14 ga wire; not solid as is used in your home. The stranded wire allows for more flexig. Most of my 110VAC electrical stuff came from Home Depot or Lowe's, or from the flea market. Nothing special here. You will want a master...
Thanks
I appreciate the quick reply. Yes, I can get to the album thru my profile. But, it is not available on the TC home page under photos. Is this correct?
Will viewers not see my photos unless the first go to my profile?
I appreciate your time . . .

I want to thank those who welcomed me to this net!
For Porter, I'll try and answer your questions. When I was designing the overall "look" of what I hope would resemble the project when finished, I had a few "must have's" from the Chairman of Board, my wife. One was that she...
I have a Carrier APU. It provides a/c, heat, and 4000 watts of power. It is tied right into the truck's fuel tank system. Two cylinder Kubota diesel, water cooled. Mounts outside on the framerail. Made to run continuously if needed.
Check E-Bay; nice low-hour units available for $2500.00.
Mine...
Hello all:
Just thought I would say hello to everyone here on the list. I just joined today, and look forward to lots of great conversation.
I am about a year into my project of coverting a 379 Peterbilt road tractor into a motorhome. Its a 2003 model, 550 Cat, 18 speed trans, 3.56 rears. So...
I am converting a 379 Pete w/63" bunk to a MH using a 16' Morgan box. I will be removing the air ride system and mounting the rear of the sleeper using solid mounts. That will eliminate the movement between the tractor/bunk and the box. I will use a stock Peterbilt sleeper ring and rubber...
