Thanks for the compliments. My boat is a 1952, canvas over wood, 12 foot Penn Yan Swift. Originally this model was built for racing in the late 1940's. Penn Yan starting offing the Swift to the public in 1950. Around 1962 or '63 Penn Yan stopped production of wooden boats and went to all fiberglass. The Swifts were referred to as the sportscar of boats in their heyday and are still highly sought after today. The motor is a 1957 Johnson 18hp. A 12' Swift was rated for 25hp max...although I've seen 40hp motors on a couple through out the years. I worked on this boat for about 13 years before I finally finished the restoration in 2007...better late than never.
