Added a couple of cross braces for extra support.
Finally got rid of too-low towel ring and installed two new rods.

For less than $8 we found a folding stool to allow DW to reach bathroom vent fan switch.
Found perfect plastic trash can at Lowe’s for narrow spot in bath.
Simple shower rod holds damp towels in unused wall of bathroom.

I have the exact same step stool (in black) and wondered where to store it. I'm 5'2", and can open the freezer door and it just skims my head - ha ha ha.
