This is my battery bank (4-6 volt golf cart batteries). The positive post is closest to us in the picture. My in-line 1 amp fuse came with a yello
The post on the left has a 2 AWG wire running to the negative post of my battery bank. The other wires are the 22 AWG wires connected to the meter.

Volts, Amps in use & % of full (amp hours) are the three basic metrics you receive. I prefer the amp hours % of full. You can have the full voltage
When installing the meter you should choose a location that is easy to access. They recommend you choose a spot somewhere in your living room area.
I know this isn't the cleanest looking hole. I'm quite the amateur on DIY projects and wood work. The meter is flush mounted to the wall.
