Roof attic vent modification finished.
I always use putty tape under the vents to ensure a waterproof seal, then fully cover the vent flange and area of 3/4" around the outside of the vent flange. This ensures a long lasting weather seam, while protecting the base of the vent from going brittle in the years to come.
