I did a similar things here hanging baskets. I bought some plastic spice racks and drilled two holes in the bottom so that my wife and I could set our phones in them and have the special 1ft. charger cord come out the bottom, since right below it was the plug. We use the command adhesive strips and it holds both those phone is just fine.
