Installed with the angled end up and pointed inward so that the side of the guard hangs outward over the bottom cap trim, yet straight vertically.
I position it so that the bottom edge is below the bottom of the slide floor so that there is no possibility of water getting under.
When retracting the slides, flip them up, using the tape as a hinge and retract the slide.
The next time you extend the slide, all you have to do is flip them back down.
