If using a dish 612 receiver that requires two coax cables for input, what would I need to do to get two inputs to the receiver?

Did you have to use the splitter that comes with dish? I am thinking that I do not? I simply determine which cable goes to the corresponding jack? If you read the installation instructions from winegard it states using a splitter from the interface?
