Question: Just ran across your photo at Rancho Jurupa. Is this the RV site just outside Riverside, CA? I lived in Riverside prior to joining the Army back in 65 and plan on traveling back for a visit. I noticed what appeared to be a nice RV camp site called Rancho Jurupa. Wasn't sure if I wanted to stay there or try and stay at the March AFB RV site. If your picture is the Riverside campground, was it a good stay?
Hi. Yes this campground is in Riverside CA. Its located the in Jurupa portion of Riverside just south of the 60 freeway (Mission & Limonite area. I really like this campground. There are two campgrounds at Rancho Jurupa - the new one is called Cottonwood and the older one is called Lakeside. Cottonwood restrooms & showers are really nice. There's washers & dryers available. Cottonwood has free Wi-Fi and cable TV while Lakeside does not. Cottonwood have concrete driveways and most with grass area. It is noted on the website which sites are dirt. The campground is on the back side of Mt. Rubidoux - great for watching fireworks on the 4th of July. March AFB is on the other side of Riverside County.
There are pictures of sites when you click on the map. I give Cottonwood a thumbs up! I have stayed there several times and 'm looking forward to going back in November. I live in Riverside so this is like a second home away from home - can still get the camping experience but without the commute.
The restrooms/showers are really really nice! This CG is local and great for a quicky get-away. My only complaint would be that the trash bin areas could be better maintained. Already have plans to go back before Thanksgiving.
