I had read about this on another thread, so decided to do it to this one. It's just the reflective bubble wrap insulation like you'd put in your windows, glued to the interior / exterior of the return air box. Figure from the factory, the only thing between 100 deg temps and your return air inside there is that very thin sheet of metal. This seems to make a difference in the efficiency of the unit.
