I used one pedestal. I did not want to penetrate the TT floor so I mounted the base bracket to a fitted piece of 3/4 plywood that I covered with peel and stick floor tile from Home Depot. The chamfered trim at the seat bases are glued/screwed to the plywood from the bottom and attached to reinforced backing inside the seat boxes. Metal stair edging covers the raw plywood edge and gives it a nice finished look. If I ever wanted to replace the original table base I need only unscrew the trim pieces attached to the seat boxes and the whole flooring piece would slide right out without any damage to the TT floor.
