I actually live about an hour from palatka. I havn't been mudding in 15 years or so. When My wife and I got married I had sand rails, But I gave it up to go road racing.

I figured with a truck conversion that there was plenty of brake power to spare. On my toter I once pulled about 18-20,000 on a gooseneck with faulty trailer brakes, never had an issue stopping. So I figured my wife's Sahara 4 door would be no problem.

sorry i missed this message. the brake laws only apply to TRAILERS, I pulled the jeep 10s of 1000's of miles an never had a supplemental brake system.

i picked up a blu-ox aventa (aluminum) tow bar on craigs list for about $300 - the guy even had (jeep/frame) base plates that he thru in the deal.

i damaged the tow bar (wasn't towing, should have removed the bar) thought it was locked down good enough....and i dragged it briefly...the parts aren't available, so i HUNTED on craigslist and bought another roadmaster 6000? tow bar for 100 bucks...in fact i bought TWO....cause i had deals going....the 2nd one i paid $70 for.
