NICE truck!! Love the color!
Man, that truck won't even FEEL that trailer behind it!
I think that from now on the most fun in going camping will be doing the trip there!
Have a TON of fun(not like that's gonna be a concern, huh?).

Very Very Nice Unit, Did the factory custom paint the 5er or was it done later? How you gonna register/tag the Volvo?? Now the Volvo is nice but it has to be highlighted to the 5er. Really Nice Rig Good Luck With It.

Very nice.
Was it built single rear or did you have the tandem removed?

I ordered it with a single rear. Also it is a 21K rear vs 23K to save on FET.

First post on this site. Waiting to pick up my 2002 volvo 770 from GATR in MN. I have a Cedar Creek 37 FLQS with four slides, air pin hitch. Was planning on removing front tandem and sliding the back one forward and then shorten the frame. Now I am thinking I might want to carry a golf cart too. Also thinging of using the TrailerSaver 32kLP low profile articulating hitch. My question is one of length. Maybe I should just remove front tandem and leave the rear? How much frame will I need ? As you can tell, I am new at this.

I have a 197"WB with the Trailer Saver Air hitch right up against the first cross member past the rear axle (behind). I have room for a golf cart and trailer swing. the 770 has a longer BBC measurement which means you need more WB. What is your WB with tandems? Subtract 26" for new WB with front rear or add 26" for the new WB with the back rear. Hope that helps, I struggled with the same question. My bed is 9'6" behind the fairings.

MMike: my 98 610 has a wheel base of 230 and the bed, built by Doonan in Wichita is 8' wide by 11' long.

I kept the rear axle where it was and built up another drive line with a carrier bearing. We carry two motorcycles behind the cab, a 750 Honda Shadow and a 650 "V" Star.

E-mail me at jgehlen@direcway.com and I will send you my conversion process at Doonan's.

Go to the photo's on this site and take a look at my pictures.
