Great Pics, looks like you are making lots of progress, I like the interior paneling you are using. Will be looking forward to future updates. The wife and I are going to be heading back to Indiana in May to tour Showhauler, Renegade and Haulmark. Still trying to decide if we will build, buy one finished or somewhere in the middle. We would love to stop by and see your work in progress if you would like to show it off.

Default Stairs

Those stairs are seriously off the hook. If I wouldnt lose 3 feet of very precious space (my project is much smaller..only 25' total, and 10 of that is a workshop) I would install those. My project is aimed more at the industrial look with the engineering concept of 'form follows function'. It might not be pretty when it's done, but everything will work the way I intended

Sorry i haven't been on lately to post. Shop has been vary busy. 100 deg. days and plenty of a/c work. Dave (dragonslayer140) and his wife came by 5-18 to check out a friends truck and my truck. Had a great conversation but always seems to short. They were in kind of hurry and i had several phone calls. Jim my friend kept them entertained while i was away. They got to see a day cab and sleeper conversion.
Met Bob (Bob86zz4), his wife, dog buck and some in laws. had a quick look at his great conversion. Got to smell some good road cooking (lasagna). Picked up 6 lights from him. He wouldn't take any thing for them so when i get my rig done i am going to have to go to St Paul and take them out to diner.
Great to be able to take most of of the day. Will work about 4 hrs today so i can work on conversion Saturday.
Everyone have a great 4th.

Been a little hectic around the homestead since I got back from my trip, have not had a chance to thank you for your taking the time to show us your project. It was also great to see Jim's rig. I wish we could have had some more time to visit, but we had to motor on to keep our schedule. I am sure we will be back in the area some time in the not so distant future, and will love to stop back by and visit without having to run off. Maybe we can go find a good steak that you guys seem to have out there..

We also got to see lots of factories and got some really good ideas, Thanks again and look forward to seeing pics of your coach as you progress.

finely got bed to work properly. had to use a hydraulic pump like on a lift gate and a hydraulic motor. should have gave up on spring tension type a long time ago. putting selector valves in hoses before bed so i can use same motor to raise and lower toy hauler door. bought dual 6" exhaust stacks 3 piece 120" tall reduced to 5" inlets miter cut on top $1500.00 and just over $500.00 for mounting brackets. rewrote books on parts and labor time. didn't leave enough room after parts when i started labor so they were jumping around in book. wife came up with idea of two books cause i will never quit working on it or throwing more money at it. she's got a good point so thats what i did. posted pictures in photo gallery. i will get them posted here also.
figure i am at about $60,000 now for labor and parts.

Concerned about the lift axle, thinking frame flex, which transmit to the body. Is frame doubled or triple ??

Cool build, lots of hours, lots of thinking and designing on the go.

are you thinking frame will flex with axle up or down? frame is single rail. added extra crossmembers. with frame tied down to heavy 4 inch tubing i can't see frame flexing at all. with tag down frame should flex even less.

They usually put a lift axle on a double frame. I have replaced and repaired frames double and triple, at the lift axle mounts, due too stresses. Your box looks to be a rigid mount, if you drop the axle and pump significant air, that frame will flex in the centre. Which will transmit to the box ?

The frame on the truck appears to be a regular highway truck frame 1/4 inch wall?? I've repaired Mack triple frame at the lift axle mount, that's just over a inch thick.

The build looks great,mu doing the interior wood working too. I can't get my welder to stick two pieces of wood together yet.

Here is a little Rv hauler I am doing right now, jus finished putting it into primer tonite

havent been posting like should.
plumbing and electric are almost done. going to lift off motorhome to spray foam insulation on. will set back on to put roof boards on. siding next and then rubber roof.
