Great looking rig! I am building my toter on the same wheelbase chassis from what I can tell from the pictures.Wish mine was that far along! I started about two months ago. I removed the center axle, installed new brakes,air bags and suspension bushings. Installed a new driveline and carrier bearing. Built a 30K gooseneck hitch and tongue pull hitch. Just completed the 6 foot bed and hauled it to the powder coater yesterday. I am ready to start the box floor but have been a little reluctant because I didn't know what or how the slide worked. From what I can tell your slide is exactly what I want to install. If you could email me the pictures I sure would appreciate it. My email is michaelmcwater@cox.net. Nice setup. Looks like you're moving forward at a great pace. How much $$$$ do you have into the build and what is your estimated total build cost once its done? Nice work.

I have spent ALL of my free time working on this truck so I don't know how much I have spent but I have a budget of 60-65k for the whole project mmmc101 I'll get you some photos of the sideout this week ,the Parker stuff is well built and works great very smooth in and out not jerky like some I have seen

I think it would depend on what you want .In my case (superslide out, frontand rear bunks,side entry garage,lots of insulation)I thought it would be better if I started from scratch .I feel a cargo box is built light , thin walls,etc harder to insulate and run ALL your wiring & plumbing just my 2cents i'm sure there are others who might think differently

well we used it on a couple local trips and we just got back from a 12 day trip to myrtle beach the HDT is a pleasure to drive . So much better to drive than our old class c or the bumper tow travel trailer. It attracts alot of attention and questions everywhere you go.

Awsome looking rig!!! You did a great job on her!!! I have a question for you. Were starting a build on a 1984 Peterbilt 359 ext hood. I'm woundering what you ended up with for a wheel base measurement. Also if its possible some pics of how you did the frame work for back and also mount those slides in. I'm haveing a tough time finding slides seems there very hard to come by. Thanks and again great job!!

well its been 3 years now since the build its working great, wouldn't go back to a factory built ,build it yourself and you know what you got ,hauled 5 bikes and towed my supercrew pick to the Florida keys everything went great and its a great conversation piece every where we take it

Started looking for 379 Peterbilt TC, 24' to 30' box, bumper pull--but ended up w/1999 Liberty Coach conversion of 45' Prevost XLV bus. 1,000sf heated/AC'd race shop w/dump station, 50amp shore pwr where bus parks, 3 NASCAR/ARCA race cars & 26' Bravo trailer.

Really nice looking conversion, looks really first class. Its great to see someone building on a classic conventional. It looks really close to what we are wanting to build. We have been doing lots of research on building our own or having one built custom for us as we just can't find what we want used anywhere. Would love to see some more pictures (especially some of the build showing your construction method) if you would be willing to share. Were you able to come anywhere close to your budget? Thanks for posting an update on your rig.

Thanks , went over my budget by about 6k, I will post some picks of the build ,i had some on here but i guess they got deleted or moved it took us 8 months to do the build (alot of time in the garage )
