after all the back and forth with DMV... yeah its is a really good feeling. The local code enforcement guys were really great in looking the other way when a neighbor complained ( an older gentleman I had been cutting his lawn for free for more than 6 months) I had to go to court to get a couple tickets dismissed... but now I am home free!
Next mod... pull the paneling of the internal bulkhead between the garage and living quarters... and re hang it using some construction adhesive. also need to have the speedo worked on... the odometer works sort of?
Next trip... off to Lazy Springs on the 17th for a jeep weekend!

Gonna be a bit more difficult to cut the neighbor's grass for free now, eh?

I believe in being a good neighbor... and despite the fact that he was not... I am still mowing his grass... I have a ride on tractor and it really only takes 10 minutes...

Good for you! Taking the high road is always best. If you want to you can come cut my yard for free too! With an old 44" Craftsman mower it used to take me 6 1/2+ hours to mow. I now have two 54" Poulan mowers and another 44" Craftsman and can get it done in under three hours now.

Typical dumbass bureaucrats. They specifically define a category of recreational vehicles as a "fifth wheel" trailer, and then specifically say you can't title and license a truck with the required fifth wheel hitch you need to tow it. And they wonder why everybody hates the government.

my favorite part is that they SHOW A PICTURE of one....and then say it cant exist !
id be willing to bet not one of those engaged in writing the law has ever camped.

Looks to me like they are saying it can exist, but it must be titled as a heavy truck and not a motorhome. Glad I'm in Minnesota where it is fairly easy to title one as a motorhome.

I guess technically they don't say that the toter doesn't exist, just that they won't license it as an rv. Even though it is in every way manufactured and equipped like any other rv.
The really bad part of this type of law, safety wise, is that is why you are seeing the sudden appearance of race rigs with ridiculously huge "tag" trailers instead of the safer more stable gooseneck/fifth wheel configuration. Some of these huge new tag trailers are up to 40' in length (plus the tongue) and a full 13'6" height. There is nobody that can tell me that setup is as stable as a similarly sized gooseneck, but the truck towing the tag is legal as an rv, and the gooseneck isn't. Professional bureaucrats writing rules about things they have no understanding of whatsoever. Plus the aforementioned fact that every legitimate rv fifth wheel trailer NEEDS A FIFTH WHEEL HITCH ON THE TRUCK.

I wonder if the truck they mean has commercial fifthwheel on it? I wish they would clarify that. What would happen if say I had a LEGALLY titled motorhome here in Minnesota and tried to title it in Florida?

I don't think they would know a commercial fifth wheel from a hat, except for one would not fit on their head. I can guarantee that "fifth wheel" truck they use for their example picture actually has a gooseneck ball on it like 99% of those toterhomes do.

More than likely. Just like the one's with a gooseneck ball and claim it is a fifthwheel.....

So why do these build take so long...? and is that a bad thing? because projects like this come along.
The Attack Cat Build: Redneck Re engineering!
what do you get when you trade a shotgun for an old Hobie 18 and sell a mountain bike to buy the tower off of a Magnum sportfish?
A Sandbar cruiser with style!
