Call a local heavy truck wrecker and buy a chunk of used frame.

That was the plan for the additional length but what about some stiffening rails that would get welded into the outer or main rails?

Ask at a local truck wrecker.... There are thousands of double frame trucks on the road, so they should be in the wrecking yards too.....

.
.
We are melding two trucks into one, so we got 'the nickel tour' of the frame department at Trisand Heavy Truck Repair in Eugene Oregon.

They use specialty C-frame channels engineered for frame lengthening.
Each is designed for the specific dimensions and bend radius of each vehicle.

A mile away is Anderson Brothers Heavy Truck dismantling.
My hobby is walking wrecking yards, and I can confirm the variations in angle, size, and bend styles.
