Ok, let me just start with this may seem really stupid or naive, but I just would like to know.

I know that it is not legal or advisable to ride in a tag trailer. But I thought I read in the DMV literature that passengers are allowed in a fith wheel trailer. Anyone know if this is true? If it is legal, is it advisable? Does the same hold true about semi-trailers?

Have you tried calling the local CHP offices?

Sometimes that works for me.
