I was digging around the cab tonight and found my cb wiring and such, I was thinking I might need one, what are people doing these days, its been 20 plus years since I had one.

I also looked at my back up camera and found the avi2 cable going the same way as the avi1 cable. do you know where it ends up?

Thanks

Sam

My rig was wired with a backup camera mounted above on the back. Then they also mounted a plug down near the hitch for a camera on the trailer. Guessing they wired yours that way too? If you can't find a plug for it then maybe they ran the wire and just zip tied it up to the frame near the back there?

I have a cb and it's helped me a few times. Truckers will generally notify each other of jam ups and you might get a heads up in time to take an exit and work around. I know for a fact they helped me do that to avoid two huge jam ups.

Thanks for the info bob, ill keep an eye open for the extra wire in the back when i am digging around back there!

Mine did not have any camera or wiring, so I had to run a wire to the back. You can get longer wire, most of the kits come with 20 ft wire for cars and pickups. I just bought a dual camera/single monitor set-up and use only one camera mounted about 3 ft off the ground and above the hitch. Gives me basic rear view. I have the spare camera for when the mounted one craps out. Wonderful chinese quality you know?

CB is helpful to avoid a traffic jam like Bob suggested; and can help with detour routing. Normal driving it can be sometimes entertaining and colorful language, but I generally have it off and listen to radio or CDs.

My CB is the hand controlled mic/speaker/volume/channel/squelch all in the corded hand-held unit that just hangs on a clip on the dash. No radio in the dash. Sound is not so great since just the small speaker in the hand-held.

It is like this one, maybe not the exact model since mine is older, but you can see it is all contained in the hand unit:

I looked at type style CB too Chevy but just something about them....
Thanks
