Default Beware of scammer selling Haulmark Truck Conversion

So, a guy on another HDT camping forum found a Craigslist ad for a Haulmark Truck Conversion built on a Volvo chassis. 45' with twin screws. Ad had a bunch of nice pictures. It's a well over $200k unit. Claimed it was an '08 or '09 chassis. Ad has all sorts of info about what a great T/C it is. One of the first mistakes the fake seller made was calling it a Toterhome. Clearly the pictures show a Truck Conversion, no deck on the back like a toter would have. Anyhow, the seller claims he's at 10416 Central Park Drive, in Manassa, VA, claims name is Robert Pittman, phone 571-348-4178. He says he's selling this rig for $31k!!! HJahahahahahahaha. Clearly a bogus deal. Anyhow, the guy is intrigued by the possibility so contacts the Robert faker. Has a few phone calls with him. Says the guy sounds legit on the phone. Well, I happen to be in VA right now and saw this so I took a drive over to that address to look for said rig. Turns out that address is a small auto repair shop. I had a nice visit with the owner. He said he has no idea who the faker is and other people have called his shop saying they were scammed by the guy because they sent him money! Ha! Apparently after these victims realized the scam they looked up the address and found out the phone number to his shop to call and find out it's all a ruse. The shop owner said he's complained to Craigslist, the local cops, and the FBI. They all told him there's not much they can do about it. The shop owner seems like a good guy to me and I surely don't think he has anything to do with this scam. Just thought I'd post here in case anybody is thinking about getting a really really great deal on a Truck Conversion. Beware, if it sounds to good to be true, well, you know the rest.

Here's the fake ad, until craigslist removes it anyhow: https://dothan.craigslist.org/rvs/5068206017.html

Yep, the terminology doesn't quite match up. Sure is a pretty unit though! Here is a picture from Craigslist
