When I was doing HVAC work we were always taught that the vent needed to be above anything within ten feet of the top of the vent for proper operation.

The heater may be a zero clearance, the vent pipe is double walled, but the termination is where the gasses leave. The termination is where you are going to have a problem. All you need to do is extend the vent to get it above the body.

I understand about the above the body thing. But look at the venting on the ones in the photo. It vents about 2" from the siding.

The vent may be fine, but where the gasses come out of the cap will be quite hot. That is where I see a problem, plus the location is not conducive to having it vent properly. Even if it does you will see a light tan to even a dark tan stain from the gasses. While the stain is normal, it is a royal PITA to remove.

EVERY manual awning owner thinks electric awnings are for chicks or unnecessary !

BUT the 1st time youve indulges in a few beverages, gone to bed & heard a storm roll in....and all you have to do is hit a button to roll the awning in (saving you a few 100 if not 1000 bucks in damage) you'll say - thank GOD for electric !

On that tankless water heater: how many btu's? what gas line size did you run? does the regulator have enough capacity for that many btu's? How big is your propane tank? I'd also agree that vent needs to be above the roof, not only because of heat damage to your box, but to draft properly. not sure that is going to work halfway up between the truck and the box. Only way to find that out is get it hot and running and get some smoke and make sure you have good flow pulling air into the flue and up the pipe. If not, it will create more heat, and a potential carbon monoxide problem. Admittedly CO probably not a big deal outside, but still.

And you're not a real man until you go out in your underwear at 2 am in the rain to roll up your manual awning. lol.

40K and I use 3/8" line to feed it. Have one at the cabin and it has been great.

I'm with Tom, but I will have the switch inside and no one will be abused !
