total protection (as bob says) is better, but the generators have voltage / current stabilizing safeguards built in.

its also why i added panel meters so i can monitor the voltage and current (consumption).

if sam goes w/ something like the TRC 40100 he'll get comprehensive surge protection at the ATS too

I'd still add a progressive industries EMS box to prevent pedestal wiring from smoking anything.
