this (12vdc) meter is my confirmation that the house batteries are being charged (going down the road) w/ the engine running.

the meter is simply wired to the incoming battery cables that feed the 12vdc fuse panel...as soon as my engine starts (no shore power or generator) i see the 12vdc voltage increase...so i know the engine (alternator) is charging my house batteries.

the DC volt meter is on the far right in this picture -
