I leave my cb on most of the time and have it set to channel 19. I keep the squelch up so I only hear close others. I also have a switch on mine that turns it over to a p.a. When some dummy starts blabbering crapola I hit that switch so I don't hear it. I wait a few miles and then switch it back. Much easier than turning the volume up or down.
