I agree with Bob on the RPM. Depending on which model you have, the engine produced 235-275 HP @ 2600 RPM and 425-525 # torque @ 1600 RPM. I would try to gear it for 2100-2300 RPM @ 65 MPH. Should give you the best bang for the $. The fairings will help as well but not as much as the gearing. Aerodynamics have a neglegible effect below 50 MPH but go up rather dramatically above that speed. I would be surprised if you could get it up to 14 MPG. That would be extremely good for what you have. Just my Opinion.
