Hi There,

How about something really made for off-road? A surplus military 5 ton or 2 1/2 ton can be had for cheap, are really rugged, and can be built on.

I know because I had one built on a 5 ton a few years back. Heavy as heck, but could go most anywhere, you couldn't hurt it if you tried, and I found that it was not picky about what I fed it.

Hope this fuels the imagination if you're still thinking about it.
